    Optronics 4/T tracer slipping...any suggestions???

Have an older 4/T Optronics tracer we've reliably used for years that suddenly doesn't want to trace without the stylus slipping from the bezel.

Any one know what's wrong and how to fix it?

There's a few things that can cause it to slip. Check to make sure there's no debris stuck around the mechanism. Biggest culprit is usually a bent, broken or loose tip. Question, do you guys calibrate it often or every day?

It is always covered and used a couple times a week. Tip is fine and I haven't calibrated it in years---So that's my next step! DOH!!!

It doesn't slide as easy as the past but it's far sticking. Is an oiling of the slide suggested?

My lab is sending someone. Thanks for the reply!

lol Calibration can always be it. Could use some oiling if it doesn't get used much. They'll get ya taken care of!

Have you considered updating? Optronics can be fickle that way. Even the Dimension’s issues are generally resolved by updating.
I bend light. That is what I do.

I have a 4tx for sale that is in good condition. The display has some lines in it, but it still functions as it should (doesn't slip).
