Actually a suburb of Portland: Beaverton.

We're a well established, private, two-optometrist practice actively looking for a well-seasoned chief optician to oversee the optical portion of our practice. Must be proficient with a manual lensometer and a master of eyeglass adjustment and repair. Our pace is steady rather than hectic, and we stress quality and craftsmanship rather than volume. The notion of "upselling" is repulsive to us and is not allowed. We've been in the community for a long time, and our reputation for competence and honesty is strong.

Although we are not currently edging, we have in the past and it is on our list of skills to add. We offer comprehensive contact lens services but this is kept separate from the optical portion of the practice.

The ideal optician in our view is one who is comfortable with him/herself, easygoing and engaging with both patients and fellow staff members, has strong mechanical skills and enjoys keeping up with what's going on in the optical field in general and with specific frame lines.
