Customer complaint - transitions Xtractive is not dark enough in the sun

Customer ordered single vision, polycarbonate, transitions xtractive with crizal easy in a drill mount frame.
Her complaint is the lenses are not dark enough in direct sunlight.
We took her lenses and placed them under the transitions uv light box, the lenses turned very dark. She was happy with it
But the lenses did not turn the same darkness in direct sunlight.

I reached out to the lab, and they said there is not they can do.

    Please advise..... =/

Transitions lenses are a comfort device not a replacement for a dedicated pair of sunglasses. Also if it is very hot out, transitions lenses will not get as dark.

I'll bet something like this cheap uv meter will show you why-

Transitions are meant to get dark in relation to the environment you are in. So when the sun isn't in full force, neither will the transitions. In fact I was just saying that today was so gloomy it would have been a better day for my Transitions than my polarized sunglasses because my polarized sunglasses were just too dark!

Since the Transitions got dark in the UV lamp, that would indicate that they aren't defective. If you'd like, the new Transitions Xtractive launches on October 13. They're supposed to get darker. You may be able to do a redo (assuming this was done at the lab and not a stock lens).
