    Perseid Meteor rain

About an hour's worth of exposure during the peak of the shower, Aug 12th. Most of the meteors were quite small (with a few bright streak...ALWAYS just out of the frame of course!) so they have been enhanced to make them a bit easier to see against the background here. Also visible are the large galaxies M31 (Andromeda), and M33 (Triangulum), as well as the famous double cluster, and the Heart, and Soul nebulas in Perseus.
