    Soldering help

We have decided that we want to venture into the world of soldering at my current lab. I have soldered at another lab years ago but I assume the equipment I used was outdated. We used something very similar to this Grobet 54.050 ProCraft Soldering Heat Control Foot Switch Solder Machine - - Amazon.com . Any idea of something cheaper/more user friendly that could be used? I understand most people send their customers to their local jeweler but we have a lot of older clients who just want a "one stop shop." Thanks!

I can't help the the soldering tools, but I was just at Harbour Freight and found a "Helping Hands" tool that can be used to hold the frame parts for soldering for only $5.99. I have seen it in the optical supplies catalogs for much more.

I have no association with Harbour Freight, just thought it was a good deal.

With the wide and unknown frame materials you will need a laser to do a good job. Most jewelry repairs are done that way.

I neglected to say that with a laser you are welding not soldering.
