On the eastern edge of Utah's San Rafael Swell, Spotted Wolf Canyon used to be a narrow slot canyon, hardly wide enough to get a single horse and small cart through. Today it has been widened to allow Interstate 70 to pass through, but the view is still very impressive. Immense entrada sandstone cliffs rise hundreds of feet, and the clear desert air makes for some spectacular sunrises and sunsets, as well as moon rises.
