    New edger

Considering buying a Santinelli ME 1500. Does anyone have experience with this edger? Pros and cons? Also, for those that are using wet edgers, are you using a bucket with a pump or direct water and empty in a drain? I haven't used a wet edger in over 20 years.

I have to say, I've honestly never seen the "bucket & pump" setup with a Santinelli.

I highly recommend putting a course widow screen over the end of the drain hose, form it to a half circle so it goes partially into the drain to catch any large particles that may clog your drain. Depending on your volume as to when to clean it. Easy to remove and rinse.

Some heavy duty pantyhose to filter the rest of the particles is a must. I mean the reinforced, support style of pantyhose to attach at the end of the drain hose.
I bend light. That is what I do.

+1 for pantyhose. Was recommended by our santinelli installer.

I've always used the bucket and pump method for Santinelli edgers. Mostly because we were edging too many jobs in house. Wouldn't have to change the pantyhose "sock" until Friday every week. Currently we have the drain with a screener (I think it's a strainer to be honest....) and I really don't like it. Too easy for the drainpipe to get build up and if you run a bunch of hi-index, it's gonna clog fast. As long as your change the sock regularly, and rinse off & clean the pump a bit, it's golden. As far as the edger itself, you really can't go wrong with anything Santinelli nowadays. Just depends on what you wanna do inhouse

I have a ME1500. It replaced my ME1200. Excellent edger. I use bucket and pump with fresh water feed.

We have direct drain with a strainer, would much prefer bucket and pump with pantyhose like my last office. Much cleaner and less accidents.

Ah yes. The day the new practice manager came into my office asking why I was taking money out of petty cash to buy pantyhose.
