Is there a manual hand edger with a poly cutting wheel?

My auto edger is giving me trouble cutting poly
(leaves little dust like marks on the surface of lens after edging)
    and sometimes would stop altogether.

While I fix the problem, I was trying to use a manual edger to cut PC and found out it was extremely difficult.
Most manual edgers have a finer wheel for cutting CR39s I guess.

Is there a manual edger with a poly wheel?
How did opticians cut poly before the days of patternless and auto edgers?

Simply use the hand wheel without water, i.e., dry.

Yes, and be ready, because it will cut very fast with a dry wheel.

Of course I use them dry!!!!! :D
But it was still difficult with high minus power lenses, as they tend to be quite thick.
Was just wondering if there was an easier way I wasn't aware of.

    Thanks heh

Which edger are you currently using?
