Reverse slab off bifocal in high index.

Looking for a lab that can make a reverse slab off bifocal in 1.67 and not having any luck. Patient has been wearing reverse slab off for a long time and did not do well with regular slab off. Any suggestions?

    Z,

To the best of my knowledge, Younger makes the only reverse slab, and is available in cr39 ft28 only.

No reason not to switch to a custom slab, where it will be on the back of the most minus/least plus lens, instead of the front of the least minus/most plus, and in most lens styles and materials.

    Hope this helps,

A reverse slab cannot be made at the lab level, it has to be part of the mold when the lens is cast. The market for this product is small and in high index it is smaller yet. The economics are not there for anyone to produce this product.

    Why 167?
Pt has successfully worn CR39 for years.
Reverse slabs are only available in cr39.

167 because her higher Rx is in the -9's and 174 is even less likely to find. May have to mix materials.

You might check out 'Slabs-Plus' in Florida for custom slab-off.
