    Kodak Total Blue puzzle

Today i had a total blue lens in poly craze with the typical crystallized look to it. my fellow lab tech, whose been doing this for 50 years takes it and puts the lenses in the frame warmer, and they are clear now, as if they'd never been crazed. am i missing something? has anyone heard of this before, or am i just new to the game after 10 years?

I guess the better question to lead with is, how did it craze to begin with? Sounds like he heated it up to reshape the curve so the coating wasn't stressed. If you catch it in time, it's possible. Also. The only right answer is. MAGIC

If the lens was truly crazed you cannot repair it in any way. By definition crazed means a layer of coating has cracked or separated from another layer. What you observed is a lens that was heat stressed putting deformed marks on the surface, this will relax out when heated again. This is usually done by placing the lens in an oven not the salt pan.
