    Vip progressive

Sad news about the VIP... It is nearly totally discontinued.

I know lots of young folks love the digital progressives, but a lot of older folks dont....

The traditional progressives are slowly poofing....

Its been an interesting journey seeing changes for the last 37 years...

    Glass
    Progressives
    Insurance
    Internet
    and so many other things...

It would be tough starting out on ground floor now with all the roadblocks now....

Wow. I'm stunned to learn this lens was still available. We did a lot of VIPs and XLs when I was first starting in 1989.

I worked at SOLA for 14 years, beginning with the launch of the XL Progressive. The VIP was a great design for it's time. R.I.P.

I find this to be a very bizarre comment. Would you care to elaborate as to what about "digital progressives"(pretty vague) older folks don't like?

@Kwill212 I think in my little experience that some people used "old design progressives" may have years ago a little difficult with freeform design cause digital progressive (usually, not true always) have the ADD grind in the backside.... old pal have ADD in the front mold.

I think now the modern design are so good and there are not problems changing an old pal to new design.

Agreed. I think that statement was accurate in the early days of digital PALs, but not any more.
