Proof that photochromic lenses aren't magic
I remember years ago I had an intern who's father worked at PPG. They had made up a pair of glasses that had an electronic switch on them to darken and lighten instantly. So cool. Obviously a lot of limitations, but it was neat to see them when he brought them in.
I remember something like that too! Maybe around the time I was in school, the late 90's perhaps?
Wearing my contrarian hat: Plastic photochromic lenses are very clear inside of a non-convertible vehicle on a sunny day, and turn very dark when outdoors on a drizzly, overcast, winter day.
