    Low Vision orange question

Our clinic sees the occasional low-vision patient. We had one recently where my doctor wanted to see what getting a set of Corning Orange #508 lenses would run. Our normal go-to for that (evidently) no longer stocked them. We called our lab, who CAN do it, but needs to know the percentage orange we're looking for. Low vision in general is pretty far outside my wheelhouse, and my google-fu is not returning anything helpful. Anyone happen to know the orange density in that lens?

The CPF 527 is probably what your looking for. There never was a CPF 508. There was a 527X but that is disco.

You could dye a pair of lenses but they'll eventually fade, and won't be photochromic. There are trial clip-ons available also.

    Hope this helps,

drk, Corning's website was basically the opposite of helpful. Basically, it shows they do lenses for optics, but not any of their product lines, or specs about them as near as I could tell.
Robert, thanks for the direction, but they haven't contacted me back after a week. Their CS line rings endlessly, and their lens line goes to VM every time :\
Any other ideas floating around out there?

An overview of the products: http://www.cpfglarecontrol.com/CPF_Lenses.html

Sample tints are available, for matching: https://www.medexsupply.com/exam-roo...pid-94301.html

This nice paper shows that one filter seems the best, but I think any would be an improvement. I doubt extreme specificity is needed. https://www.researchgate.net/publica...on_performance

I just got off the phone with them on the first try (1:00pm CDT).

    Dial 800.847.9357.

From the menu select #1 (customer service).
