    santinelli 9000 stylus slipping off frame bevel during tracing

    So the stylus keeps popping out of the bevel while tracing frames if there is any tilt at all. Having to trace one eye at a time, positioning the frame in the least difficult position. I see that the tip of the stylus is worn flat. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution short of buying a new stylus? How about filing the tip back to a rounded position? Don't want to ruin the stylus yet, right? Thanks in advance for any helpful input.

    Sounds like your stylus has reached the end of its useful life. Replace it.

    I am assuming you have calibrated it with the tracer provided?

    Yes, did both the calibration and the tension procedure. I noticed, too, that the stylus doesn't have "stop" points when I rotate it by hand. It will go the full 360 degree swing.

    When you trace demo lens is still fine?

    Yes, and if I hold the frame to minimize lift at the edges it'll do one side at a time fine. Just won't stay in the bevel when I try to trace left and right lenses

    If the error it is only on binocular tracing I think there is some problem in mechanical, I do not know if it is only the stylus.

    do you have no tech support service?

    Don't have, and I think you're correct that the problem is internal. Looks like I'll send the tracer to California for a refurbish, probably. Thanks for the reply.

    it is better to replace it.Ask for the proper consultation.It will solve your problem.
