Does Hoya Sync 5 have an inset?

I'm sure it has at least some but how much? I'm looking at the fitting chart but it does not show. I have a friend who's a high hyperope and as such he has to converge quite a bit for near through his SV lenses. I need to be sure there is at least some inset, otherwise it wouldn't make much of a difference.

The inset has seemed to be on par with most of the high end progressives. And this goes for most of these types of lenses. The mapping seems to be a little wider, for obvious reasons. However, the drop is where we've seen some issues. Gotta make sure you don't lower it at all, because the mapping does seem lower for the zone than a progressive. At least for the apex of the zone. Best way I can say it is it seems flatter, given it's not a progressive so it doesn't technically flow the same way. But yeah. We've had to raise the measurement by like 1mm to make sure people are hitting the zone like normal in anything around 33+ B measurements. Not sure if your friend would like them as much because of that

Thanks. Fitting height is 24 in a 38 B frame and sync 5 has a higher boost zone comparable to short corridor progressives, so it should work out great.

I have 3 pairs with these lenses, each fit at center pupil and they're fantastic. I overplussed my distance by 0.25 and even then they're great. The weird thing though is that when comparing with and without glasses I get a very slight base out prism effect at near which is what made me wonder about the inset. Distance is +0.25 right and 0 left.

I have 3 pairs with these lenses, each fit at center pupil and even despite a very large vertex distance they're fantastic.

Which power boost are you using for him?

Sync 5 has a 0.57 boost. It seems to be closer to 0.75 though, at least that's what I measured in my own pairs.

The 0.95 and 1.32 boost zones are about 3mm lower compared to the 0.57.
