Polishing bifocals

Just when you think you've heard it all...had a lady to call the office today explaining that she currently has a pair of bifocal prescription sunglasses but is now interested in just "distance only" Rx sunglasses and wanted to know how much it would cost to just "polish the bifocal part out?!" It's amazing what people come up with!

you could always impress them by saying "sure I can"..let them come in you pull a pair of stock SV and edge them and charge for "removing" the bi-focal :)
I have seen worse.. I had an older fellow come in and he decided that the RD22 would work better if the bi-focals were on the temperal side and he wanted me to take the lens out and mount them back in backwards He kept bugging me and bugging me and I told him I could regrind him a pair to fit that way but not use his old ones so he decided to do it himself.. he actually got them in (with a few gaps here and there) but then couldn't understand why he couldn't see through them any longer.. :)
Oh well between the people wanting me to just "re-grind" the old lens to making cr39 to transitions by "tinting" them it never gets dull :)
