Redhot Jumper VSP AR reimbursement changes beginning September 1, 2020...

    Dawn breaks over Marblehead!

Cleaned out the VSP file just now and forgot about this recently filed notice.

I think this is why VSP proprietary anti-bacterial is coming.

    Beginning September 1.

From a copy of news I printed from Eyefinity On-line about 6 or 8 weeks ago:

The preferred brands for AR coatings will be differentiated based on ISO-certified anti-bacterial technology, currently TechShield AR Coatings

All other brands of AR coatings and VSP Optics brands that do not have the anti-bacterial technology will be in the non-preferred category and receive reduced doctor service fees.

Preferred brands for progressive and digital single vision digital (includes anti-fatigue) lenses include Unity, Zeiss, Maui Jim, and Hoya; non-preferred brands include all other manufactures at the reduced doctor service fee.

That $200,000,000+ in income, and bloated executive bonuses ain't just gonna appear out of nowhere! Sounds like their $$$2 BILLION mountain of gold has dwindled a bit of late, and I'm sure they're particularly eager to claw as much of it back as possible.

it seems that the whole "preferred" brand thing has quietly disappeared?

The back office follows payments so do one of you know if the (C)Rock AR reimbursement is not as great as Tech Shield?

It's the same as Techshield UVR and Blue because they include the backside AR add-on, which is on ALL Crizal.

Thanks Dan but I was wondering if the dollar amount VSP reimburses is different as I was led to believe we got measurably more money by using the Tech Shield brand over Crizal as a sweetener to use Unity products.

    Is this true?

It is true if you are a VSP Premier provider. They give you rebates for selling their stuff. If you are not Premier it's the same.

That's the answer to my question.

    Thanks Dan!
