I have a client who has two pairs of frames varifocal lens. Both are said to include Varilux Comfort. But are the lenses always the same?
1 - A large frame Tom Ford similar in shape to this - https://www.opticiansdirect.co.uk/gl...1-shiny-black/ - dispensed at a private opticians.
2 - A smaller frame Starck https://www.smartbuyglasses.co.uk/de...E&gclsrc=aw.ds - glazed at Asda requesting Varilux Comfort.
On the Starck frames the client is feeling that the left eye both distant and reading seems weaker. In-fact he prefers wearing the larger frames as in his opinion his vision is much much clearer with them.
Discounting a measurement issue which has been checked. Could this be phycological or do Asda dispensary processes differ thus despite being the same branded lens, one frame will produce better results than the other?
I think that he is wary about glazing additional frames incase these also do not perform as well as the Tom Ford frames glazed by the private optician.
He also says that he has another aviator shape frame also dispensed by ASDA which has their standard lenses in, they are tinted and and old prescription but he has no issues with those at all?
What say you?
