Customer requests me to compare Hoya & Essilor lens

    Dear all,

I have a patient with the following eyesight reading:

    Right +2.5 (SPH), -1.25 (CYL), 105 (AXIS), +3.00 (ADD)
    Left +2.00(SPH), -00.50 (CYL), 090 (AXIS), +3.00 (ADD)

One of my colleagues suggests to use Essilor's Crizal Sapphire UV.
However the patient keeps convincing me to prescribe her Hoya lens.

As I am new to this field, I would like to get extra opinion from you all.
    1) Which Hoya lens would be suitable for my patient above?
    2) What are the pros & cons for Hoya lens?
    3) What are the pros & cons for Essilor's Crizal Sapphire UV?

    Thank you.

This post is suspect. You'd have to be REALLY new to the field to write an Rx like you just did.

Second, you're asking us to compare a name brand anti-reflective coating with a different lens brand but no mention and other specifics or of a coating. Yikes...

Your title says the customer wants to compare Essilor and Hoya lenses but your post says a colleague suggests Sapphire 360 but customer wants a Hoya lens.

Who's on first? Where's Waldo? What exactly is the question here?

Based on how this is written I have a sneaking suspicion you're a consumer asking a question and have no clue what you're talking about.

I'm with Quig on this one. You'd have to be brand spanking new. Now assuming you didn't write the script, Crizal Sapphire is an antiglare coating, and there are Hoya coatings just as good and probably less expensive. But the real question is, what is the question regarding the differences in their actual lenses. Also is it a progressive lens, etc. Not to trying to be rude, it just sounds like you're a consumer without all the information as we do get those from time to time and that's not what this forum is for. Now, if you ARE brand new to the optical world. Welcome! And we'll be more than happy to help educate you on the world of lenses and coatings. :)

How is a patient more convincing than a colleague? Definitely a consumer here.
