    anti-fog lenses

We have a patient who works in a grocery store and can't wear her glasses when she works in the (room-sized) refrigerator. When she goes in and out of the fridge, her glasses get fogged. We also had a surgeon who mentioned his glasses get fogged when he wears his surgical mask over his nose and mouth.

We looked into ordering the anti-fog spray and I think there is a gel available too. Before we order these, does anyone have experience with these and do they really work? The fine print said that the spray can't be used on AR coated lenses.

    Are there any other remedies?

    Paw:

Are glasses small and well off the cheeks. Lenses that fit too snuggly around the orbit, especially if the frame touchs the cheeks or eye brow are far more prone to this problem. Glass is more heat/moisture sensitive than plastic.

    Fog Buster.....

Hilco makes a product they call Fog Buster which I have found to be quite good. The also market it in kit form which allows you to sell a cloth too and it comes in a package that sells itself. You can find it on pg 14 of the 2002 catalog and I'm sure on their website.

    best from hj

PS you can also find it here but it is not well described.

I am making an antifog product which I claim is working a full 100% and is THE best on the market. It is called ZERO-FOG.

No fogging up whatsoever when coming out the freezer.

I will send you and every body else a free sample for the asking. Just send me an e-mail with your address.

Paw, i had this situation in a factory one time when i was selling safety glasses, i made two pair, one was kept in the cold room and the other was worn the rest of the time. Trouble with anti foggers is i never saw one that lasted that long.

    Lenny,

I am on the Optiboard for the fun and to learn something different. I am not trying to push my products on anybody here. Of course when the discussion get into a field where I am good at I put in my five cents,

And of course one gives out free sample in the hope of making a sale at some point.

    Harry,

Of course a hydrophilic solution on a surface is only effective as long as it lasts.

When wiped off the effect is gone and it has to be re-applied, but you should not be sad about it, ..................then what is better in business than a good repeat order from you patients.

    Would you be good enough....

    Chris,
Would you be good enough to request an optiboarder do a review of your anti-fog product?
I'd ask everyone you send samples to and the panel will review what comes in, and post it in the new forum.

The form is easily downloadable in the forum and simple to fill out. Shouldn't take anyone too long.

We're always looking for new product reviews.

    Thanks from hj

    hj

Thanks for offer. I will do that and submit a few items, including the Zero-Fog.

So far I have had ............. 2 .......... takers for a free sample which we are going to mail out today. I thought there could have been a lot more takers seeing the number of Optiboarders that looked at the post since yesterday.

    Anti-Fog Lens

    Hello

You should ask your lab for "NIKON" if i'm not mistaken.

My friend did it and its very cool; there is another company or manufacturer's name but it fogging process is slow but the NIKON is fast.

Reply back if you find out more from the lab:cheers:

Could you be a little more specific?

The other company is slow to fog up and Nikon fogs up fast?

    Knowledge on silver platter

Hello as you remmember i promised to provide info in its due time.

both lenses comes from the same company. The NIKON

The OD has laser marking of "NIKON"
The OS has laser marking of "NPP" NIKON PERFORMANCE PACKAGE"

    made by ESSILOR USA LAB

    http://www.eloa.com/nikon_ix.asp

Now since we are on the same topic which is "ANTI FOG LENS"

My curiosity: i have A/R coating on my lenses, i fogged the lens with the breath of air from me and to my surprise, the lens fogged but instantly vaporised.

The case: If the A/R works exactly same as ANTI FOG COATING why do we need A/FC. Is it another marketing ploy? to make $$$?

    Feedback appreciated

    Anti-Fog

    OdTech

An anti-fog treatment a so called hydrophilic treatment. It will either not fog up at all or it will disspate fogging much faster than un-treated lenses.

In Japan fire fighters now are all wearing Japanese made permanently made anti-fog lenses. As Hydrophilic means water accepting the effect of these lenses weakens with time. The fire fighters in Japan now have to change lenses every 7-9 month.

Be chaeper to sell your customers a good anti-fog spray that can be re-applied when needed and you will make a buck and not have customers screaming at you 8 month down the road.
