Patients IOT reader has blur at top & bottom

We have something strange. Usually readers will be consistent across the lens, but lately the IOT reader 2 a patient told us that they're seeing blur and the top and bottom as if they're wearing a progressive.

    Has anyone experienced this?

What lens design are you specifically fitting them with? The IOT office reader II?

Well that's a degressive type of office lens that comes in multiple different focal lengths. You're describing exactly what I would expect for that type of lens.

There are 4 modalities. Not quite accurate until we know which modality.

And all 4 are degressive lenses, just with different amounts of degression. No? They are all going to have some blur to varying degress. Certainly not consistent power across the lens as OP described.

Whats been your goto lens range for people that just want standard readers? Single point of reading distance, for reading books, their phones etc.

This is beginning to sound very much like a consumer post...

Yes because consumers come in daily and go "I want the IOT Office Reader ii, 1.3m and I want it at a FH of 14."

Well I would expect opticians to understand some basics about the lenses they are fitting patients with, and I wouldn't expect an optician to ask for a go to free-form lens for simple single vision reading glasses. Unless they have a high cyl or extreme power, that seems a bit excessive. Given the relative simple Rx you presented I would suspect just about any stock lens would do the trick, as long as it cuts out. emoji face I guess goes here.
