    Reading Glasses...OTC Rx?

Fellow Optiboarders... question about OTC Readers.

I am a Licensed Optician in Ohio (working in an Ophthalmology Clinic) and have been asked by many patients about readers. The quality of the OTC's we have in stock is marginal. I have found that the readers we have on hand (for the most part) have inconsistent power, aberrations and the OC/PD is very random.

In New York (where I am from originally), only allows up yo a +3.00. In Ohio, I have seen up to a +4.00 in drug stores. My thought I to make up readers with the Sphere Powers and decenter 3mm.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
