    Blue Jumper Antique Temple Tips

    Hi,

I have a patient who brought me a couple of his grandfather’s glasses. The temple tips are so old they’re practically cemented onto the frame. He would like me to replace them, I’ve heated them to impossible temperatures and I’m getting no movement on one of the pair. Any tips? I’m open to anything.

    Thanks!!

If there is no coating/paint on the frame to worry about, you could probably dissolve the temple tips in acetone.

I assume metal temples or metal core. Probably as dry as a popcorn faht after all these years. If so just crush them with pliers and then clean the metal core with the solvent of your choice.
