Even the ones that have the caps? Hmm. I guess so since it's technically sewn in. Can't seal around the valve tightly enough. Thanks Dan!

The current suggestion is to wear a simple cloth mask that can seal over the valve.

There is no such thing as a reusable healthcare grade N95, N99, or N100. The only "reusable" mask that meets healthcare standards is a PAPR, which uses a HEPA filter, which is superior to all N, R, & P rated masks. However, no one, outside of a laboratory, has one of these since they cost $1200.

Many moons ago I sold a product called fog be gone.....not 100% on the name but it smelled like lemonade but worked great. I used to use it on my bathroom mirror. Surly there something out there that works. I miss Chris. He would have come up with something and probably sold it.

This is the closest thing I can find that isn't a towlette of some sort.

Actually i was wondering ? If you are seeing patients in Optical, how are they trying on frames with masks? are you allowing the patients to take off mask ? I'm in a fog about that :(
We are seeing patients, but i feel bad if they have to only try frames on while masked ? Any feedback ?

I ordered a couple bottles of Magic fog be gone. Will let everyone know how/if it works. If it does I will sell it....$59.95 for 1 oz. Nice sideline!

We cordoned off a section in our optical with curtains and made a "dressing room" with a chair, table, and mirrors. Anyone who wants to remove their mask can take a selection of frames in and do so, they are physically blocked and more than six feet distant from anyone else in the office.

My local lab just contacted me and said they have an antifog that works well with AR. One application lasts about a week, however most people will prob clean their glasses and have to reapply a few times a week. No idea what it is but I think this might be it. Supposedly it works and is selling like crazy. I ordered some and will give it a shot.

How do you clean this when the patient is done? Do you spray the area with Lysol? Do you have to wipe down the walls of the dressing room? Very curious about this idea.

I got Dynamic labs fog drops, holy moly they work, so well, even on AR lenses. I just bought a bunch and will be bringing a same bottle to every surgival center/ doctors office nearby. I'm giving some to my wife to bring to the hospital with her also.

All the BS fog stuff I've used over the years, this stuff really works!

I wonder if it is Rysers formula :) I think they said it is the same formula used by some car manufacturers

Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like the front runner as everything else I've tried has been a huge failure/disappointment.

Nuke it from orbit. Only way to be sure.

But yes we Lysol and Clorox wipe the table, chair, mirror. The walls and curtain are far enough away and there is an easily traversable entry so they aren't coming in contact with the walls and curtain. All frames are collected in a tray and sanitized with soap and water. We are only seeing one eyewear customer every 30 minutes minimum, usually more like one per hour, so plenty of time to keep people apart and clean in between. It's a chore, but everything is now.

Back office is hearing from friends that applying shaving cream creates an effective temporary anti-fog film for lenses.

I'm skeptical something in the "foam" especially may affect an AR coat.

    What say the experts?

I used to have patients tell me this during the brief period my old office was supposed to aggressively push OptiFog. It's apparently an old enough "trick"/urban legend that even super blue-collar guys who didn't have the internet in the early 2010s knew about it. I'm curious as to the origins myself.

My grandfather knew of this trick from working in his laboratory back in the 1980's, so, as far as I am aware, it has been known for a very long time.

Also heard rubbing a cut potato on the surface does the same thing (polished clean afterwards of course). *shrug*

Ok... so the stuff I got from the lab is called Fog Stopper and it is awesome!!!! I love it. It works great, but is a bit pricey. I would gladly pay full retail for it though because it works so well! I think it will sell like crazy. We are not charging the full MSRP. We wanted to offer a service more than we want to make a buck. Just ordered 2 more boxes so we have extra. We are in a medical building so I think we will go through it quickly. Again, we have tested it on our staff and it is working great!
