    Standard PALs?

First time poster on this forum.
What are the best options for standard PALs for EyeMed? We are fairly new and starting to get quite a few EyeMed patients.
    Here are my choices:
    Adaptar/Short
    Natural
    Ovation
    Navigator/Short
    Outlook
    Shoreview

    Thank you!

I would go with Natural, it was a great workhorse lens back in the day, available in everything, compatible with everything. As with any of those ancient molded designs don't buy their 18mm min fit height which loses as much as 50% of reading zone, go with 20mm.

I remember seeing PAL ID books with the Natural's minimum fitting height set at 22 mm. Doesn't the Natural date back to the early 90s?

Yup that's probably when it came around, I encountered is as the go-to progressive in LensCrafters in 1999, worked with it for several years until it was replaced by Ovation in early 2000s (which was a failure). Dunno about the 22 min seg, it is listed as 18 in current identifiers.

I'm amazed it's still available. Can it be they are still producing these blanks, or is there still leftover inventory from twenty years ago? They do have a "digital" version now which is a full backside translation of the design, but presumably the normal is still a molded blank? Or are they surreptitiously just subbing in the backside design? I haven't ordered one in a long time, but maybe I will just to see if it's truly a traditional molded frontside.

fwiw, I've used the Shoreview as my bottom dweller. Never a non-adapt that was the designs fault.

Ditto, if we can still get it.

    Adaptar/Short Hard multi? design.
    Natural Longer corridor softer
Ovation Shorter corridor, shortest is on the flatest base curves
    Navigator/Short Punt
    Outlook Good
    Shoreview Good

    Hope this helps,
