Frame disinfection in this perilous time.

How do you accomplish frame disinfection in your practice?

I was thinking about doing a 'bath' with antibacterial soap and water.

Peroxide immersion? Peroxide mist is approved for reuse of face masks in hospitals. Unsure of potential damage to some frame materials.

Yes, a mixture of antibacterial soap, peroxide and water. I think it'll be fine for a one-time bathe and dry. I'm going to use the same mixture on the frame boards with a bleach mixture for the counter tops and cabinet handles. That's the best I can come up with so far.

Kill time for plain soap is twenty seconds. Moot if you're both not wearing masks and always wash hands and all surfaces after each encounter. In other words, stay home.

We aren't open for anything routine and patients are not coming into the dispensary-I am trying to get a plan together to thoroughly clean everything at some point before we do eventually open back up.

Second the UV light. UV-C tears microbial molecules to shreds. Make sure that it includes 222 nm in the spectrum it emits, this is the absolute best wavelength for destroying microbes.

If you are not interested in sanitizing the frames you can just rotate the frames off the board that were tried on and put them in trays with dates. Replace them other frames on your boards and in three or four days you can put those frames from the trays back in the boards. The scientists say the germs in any are resolved within few hours or upto three days.
