Smilie How detailed is the Advanced Cert test?

    Hey folks,

I am taking the ABO-AC test in 3 weeks and I've focused on optical formulas and theories for the longest time. Now I am taking a step back and in rereading the AOT I see that almost 11% of the test questions will be related to medical abnormalities so I am trying to brush up on the anatomy, disease and all that good stuff. The thing is though, I don't know how in depth I should be studying for. For example, for the muscles in the eye, is it enough just to know the location and function of them? Or do I need to know specifically where they originate from and attaches to, as well as their innervation? Frankly I don't want to dig into the microscopic level if I don't have to at this moment in time.

Any recommendation or experience is greatly appreciated!

I took the test on a whim after passing ABO about 20 yrs ago. My brain froze on the formula questions- literally paralyzed due to nervousness. But I passed because I know anatomy, and the basics of how light refracts, the electromagnetic spectrum and other relevant optical stuff every optician should know. The tests are rotated so I can't really offer much specific advice for what to study for. Good luck to you! (And now I see how old the original question is so I hope you did well. I'm leaving my answer for others who may be interested in the topic)

There will be more pathology than anatomy.
