    Laser Engraver or Not

I am purchasing a brand new Digital Lab, my question is... Do I need an engraver at all for my progressives? If I dont how do I edge them without the markings?

    Thank you

You definitely need some type of engraver either laser or mechanical. Make your choice very carefully. Engravings that are too deep will be visible to the consumer and cause backside coating problems. Check out the equipment on varied materials and lens Rx’s. The marks will vary with lens Rx due to one side being closer to the laser causing a deeper impression. Some lasers change their intensity as the day moves on and the laser warms up. Talk to people who own the equipment you want to purchase.
