    Fog id

So, this morning its a slow day at the office, and some how, I've discovered that "fog id" is a thing with Crizal, in which you would blow, or fog up a lens with a Crizal coating, and the word Crizal would appear in the middle, and disappear when the fog goes away.
Is this really a thing? How come the only sources I can find are fom India. Maybe it's regional?

It is OLD. The very first Crizal lenses had this feature. I haven't seen it since about 2003. It wasn't the middle, it was off to the outside of the left lens, as I recall.

Carl Zeiss is doing a similar thing right now, and it's just as stupid now as it was then. Why would you add something to your lens that guarantees a certain number of complaints that "something is on the lens and I can't clean it off"?

The dreaded Zeiss "Shield" ... even on stock 1.5 / 1.6 Duravision it is on there, and usually placed right in optic center, slap bang where the Px cant help to notice. Had to send maybe 80 jobs back in past 6 months as was in an unacceptable position.

I'll have to check that out. Never seen it before in my 30 years of dispensing. Love learning little oddities.
    Thanks

I have a pair at home, in an old Safilo Verge frame.
