I feel like I just started.

Hey gang, this is my first post here, and I've been lurking for a few weeks. I have a total of 4+ years in optics, and recently started working for a private practice after a 3 year hiatus from the industry. The place I worked before was for lower budget frames and lenses, and I was more of a lab person, so I only had to talk to patients on rare occasions, fast forward a few years later, I am now a dispensing optician, I feel like everything I knew before was either wrong, or I just was completely ignorant.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is this: is there a "dispensing" for dummies? I feel like I trip over my words when I try to explain the differences between a Shamir Intelligence and a Autograph III. Same thing with the various Crizal products. We didn't have as many options in the lab I worked in, so a lot of this is new to me. At least I remember how seg heights work

Thank you all very, very much.

I think the problem is you have to wade through propaganda from each company that is meant to obfuscate. If you'd like to PM, I'd be happy to give you my crash course on how to evaluate different products with in a brand and between them, what actually constitutes novel differences vs marketing noise. It becomes much easier when you assume everything is 70% BS.
