I'm a student optician working with a preschool aged child who just had their first eye exam and their Rx is -12.00 with a -3.00 cyl!
I've dispensed for similar prescriptions before, but always adults (who usually opt for some combo of CL and spec correction, and have been wearing a high Rx for years).
So I was hoping for opinions on what
you would do.
Some specific questions... At what point do you consider a minus lenticular?
For a full field lens, would you soft polish the edges to reduce concentric circles or would the reflections this produces be too distracting for a child?
Do you have a preferred lens design for high single vision wearers?
Is there anything else you would consider to make adaptation easier and these specs more comfortable for this little one?
And before you ask-
yes, they have been referred to an OMD
Thank you!!
