Review:
Anyone else disappointed with the new Reichert illuminated phoropter? It is poorly designed. I love my traditional Reichert and find it dependable and top of the line. I’ve had trouble with the “grey market” phoropters (like cylinders off axis or the glue slipping), so never considered another brand.

But, my illuminated Reichert has no rheostat to vary illumination, I get afterimages from the brightness. The cheaper burton has a rheostat. And to replace the transformer with one with a rheostat will void my warranty.

And my illuminated Reichert is set up for a left handed room. The illumination plug is a large obvious plug in the front of the top arm when used right handed. If the stand is on the left side, the plug is behind and much more cosmetic.

Would you purchase this product or other products from this company based on your experience with this product?
Traditional non-luminated, most definitely as it is the best. Illuminated needs design changes.
