    I have only one question:

“What is the accepted power tolerance when filling Rxs in 1/8th diopters?”

    (I thought so.)

Beginning with a more accurate starting point still reduces the chance of the Px having an issue.

I'm not against 1/8 Rxs. As an optician, when I see an Rx like that, I assume it is a patient that is really sensitive and picky. I have no problem filling it. I just add a comment to the lab, must be exact. I've had a patient before come in with an Rx like that and was really happy that we were able to fill the rx. I'm not saying every rx should be written that way, but for a select few, it gets the point across. I have also filled a plano -.12 Rx. The OD only did it because it was a medical issue for a child and the insurance would not cover plano, but they would cover plano -0.12. Roll your eyes now.

+/- 0.13. Basically null. Axis? Not defined. Again, null.
I bend light. That is what I do.

Rolling eyes. Insurance fraud, Bueller? Better off prescribing 1/2D BI prism, or .25 cyl. SMH.

You clearly have not been paying attention... per this thread, the appropriate alternatives to that sphere power would be 1/8 diopters of either prism or cylinder...

    You're welcome!
