    Hev - a/r

Hello, I am fairly new to the industry and have a question on Blue light and Anti-Reflective. I have asked several people, but seem to get different answers/opinions. So, is having a premium a/r property on lenses enough protection from HEV? Computer users and other devices that emit HEV? Or, will adding a blue light filter be better? Thank you, looking forward to any assistance/clarification out there!

    From the above white paper....

    Conclusions

We find a lack of high quality evidence to support using BB spectacle lenses for the general population to improve visual performance or sleep quality, alleviate eye fatigue or conserve macular health.

IMO use a premium hev attenuating lens (we have our own brand we have manufactured for our lab, but many major lens companies have their own as well) and use a good high quality hard coat and ar stack. In our lab we sourced and produce our own materials because bigE has their mits on everything else. We produce a high quality lens that will offer all of the features you hear about for great prices , a true independent. The material is what has the benefits of attenuation(blocking) and not a coating. The coating reflects (about 20-30% .. which mean 70-80% passes through) ... also never put a hev stack on a photochromic lens .. don't block what activates the photochemicals ... we have a product coming soon which will block more hev than transitions ... send me your info and I can send you more info when it is released.

We love the easy answer (read the citations and follow the money).

Do you have any scientific evidence or peer reviewed studies to back up any of your humble opinions?
