I'm hearing from up front that VSP's drop down list will not show Physio Trans 8 (or the prior version for that matter).
Any scoop? Are they turning down the faucet?
Comfort 2 is available with Trans 8.

Yes, you are right. We called our Essilor rep.
Oh well. It doesn't bode well for the lens.
I am of the opinion (and you know what that's worth, ha) that the Physio design is what all the following jazzy lenses have been based on.
SO THERE!
AH HA!
We just saw an essilor-bot today and he told us that Physio is on the scrap heap.
There is a new lens in April that will be it's replacement. I think it's digitally-surfaced. I think it promises a different power profile.
Any scoop, Optiboarders?
The W3/s/x iterations are all based on physio. they never heard of it "if it not broke, dont fix it"
There's the Varilux Comfort Max coming out, but I didn't think that would be poised to replaced the Physio brand? I would guess as they continue to push into more premium territory they just want to retire as much traditionally surfaced stuff as possible. Additionally the Comfort W2+ is arguably a more advanced lens design but at the same price point as the traditional Physio. The Physio just doesn't have a lot of selling points or competitiveness anymore, even among Varilux's own products. If people want traditional progressives, they'll eventually just keep it to the entry-level Comfort. I'm actually surprised with every new iteration of Transitions how many manufacturers put the massive expense into buying millions of new blanks for every one of their designs.
