    Need a new uncut lab...

Sadly, it seems after several years of generally good service and quality, FEA is not able to consistently maintain basic levels of quality control or timeliness. We're on the lookout for a new supplier of uncuts for our FTs, polar, basic digital PALs and the like.

Any suggestions on quality suppliers you might use, independent preferred, would love access to IOT designs if possible. Thanks for any info you might be able to offer. Thanks!

DEL is great for everything you need except FTs.

Was wondering about Laramie possibly, though I seem to remember their pricing wasn't competitive at all when we last checked a couple years back. Will look them up again though. Cherry optical possibly? Any experience w them on the boards here?

Cherry Optical in Green Bay, WI is the best lab I've dealt with in my 30+ years in the field.

How's the speed and quality you've seen with Cherry Jefe?

I also use Cherry. Opened an account 1 year ago. Speed, quality, customer service are all excellent. Jason in customer service has been able to answer all of my off the wall request andCherry has a lifetime no questions asked warranty, if you are into that sort of thing. When I was looking for a new lab a year ago I questions so far. Every IOT design available. Depending on what kind of lenses you use, and discount you can negotiate, Cherry probably cost a little more than FEA. tried a few different ones. I used FEA for a grand total of 7 jobs before I gave up. When they got everything right it was good. But they just couldn't get a job right the first time, in a timely manner. No such issues with Cherry. I think I have rejected 2 jobs from them in the last year. 1 for slightly off AR color, and one for having the Camber blank blocked crooked. Highly recommended.

I'm happy with the speed and very happy with the quality. I used to buy stuff from FEA, too, and Cherry is SO much better.

Cool. Really appreciate the info guys. I'm rather shocked at FEA today - certainly not the same lab I started using a few years ago. Don't know what happened, but I know they had some big changes in CS, and it seems about the same time everything else started to fall apart as well. Pity - it was a good run. Will be looking a the other options in earnest.

    Again, many thanks!

It is disappointing when the production arm of the business isn't as good as the marketing arm.

For glass, especially free-form glass, though, they're still the best option.

may check out cherry, I love luzerne but they are SO slow, and I finish 95% of everything in house. Part of the reason luzerne is slow though is they reject stiff other labs would send me. Definitely not leaving luzerne but I need to have a back up lab. I should try Laramie also, I like their style

Cherry operates 24 hours a day. They have a separate building for AR. They can knock out most orders in a few days. Their pricing structure is simple: six levels of progressive pricing. They have a three-pair IOT Alpha deal that's pretty darn good if you have three pairs. You get half off full list for extra pairs of lenses with some premium feature for three months after the first pair. If you buy uncuts and you mess up on the occasional pair, they will supply a replacement without giving you any crap.

    They're truly the best.
