    Help with prescription sunglasses discoloration

I have a brand new pair of sunglasses that have a "rainbow" effect going on around the edges of the lenses.
The effect looks like the swirl of colors you see in a puddle of gasoline in the sunlight (if you have ever seen that).
They are progressive and have prisms.
    Can this combination cause this?
This is the second set of lenses with the same problem and I'm being told it's because of the prisms.
Please help before I go in once again.
    Thank you!
