    Squeaky-creaky

OK, we ordered aspheric polycarb with AR for a ~+150-+2.00D patient and put it into a plastic frame that's not really zyl. (It's a Lux Vogue 5163...it's some kind of polymer. Translucent, no wires, probably cold insert.)

When the frame flexes (+/- faceform) we hear a "creeaaakk" or a "squeeaakk" which is probably the one material grinding against the other. It seems like the "acoustic properties" of these two materials just reinforce each other.

So...what would you do? We don't need no creaking.

It will stop doing it as the pt wears it and body oils get between frame and lens.
Or you can put some kind of light lubricant between frame and lens now. And if it has AR.......well best of luck at keeping it clean.

You might also consider bacon grease. The only drawback is that you will attract every cat and dog for miles.

You could try a touch of baby powder....worked well for insertion of lenses, too.

It’s so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don’t say it.

I like to put a light layer of Hilco's latex interliner. It works like a charm.

We did the Hilco interliner method and it worked. Thanks, Optiboarders!
