PRODUCT REVIEW FORUM IS LOOKING FOR NEW REVIEWS!!

A few months ago Steve posted a poll on what would improve Optiboard. Far and away the feature that most members voted for was a product review forum.

    We started one!!

After the initial spate of reviews, no one has contributed any more. This thread is to remind you that reviews are simple to write and although we try to limit them to 500 words or less, it is not mandatory to use all 500 words. Many products can be reviewed with less.

Writing a review is simple. All you have to do is go to the forum and download the form. Fill it out, and send it to the mailbox indicated.

The review can be on any product you come across in the industry. From a screwdriver, to a frame, to a tinting system, to a generator, to a casting system, to software...etc. etc.

The review can be positive or negative. If its good we need to know it and if its not, we need to know that too.

The field is wide open, and the panel would like to hear from you. This forum will only work with Your participation.

    Thanks for your time!

Of course everyone wants a review forum! They just don't want to have to do the work! :D

Why don't you guys who set up the review forum, do the reviews? You have done most of the posting so why not the reviews too? It's all opinion anyway. We would respect your opinions you know.

    Welcome back!

Hi Keith, I hadn't seen your posts for a while,
I thought you had foresaken us. Nice to hear from you!

Since you were on the original panel, and 2 of the original panelists have already done reviews perhaps you would consider reviewing a product that you use and would review for us. I am very interested in trying to do something with Prio if you have any interest, let me know.

I only have so much time to devote to Optiboard. As moderator of product reviews, one of my responsibilities is to generate some interest in the forum, not necessarily reviewing products myself, but trying to get others to do it.As a moderator I spend a lot of time roaming around Optiboard , responding to posts and inquiries. When time allows I will put something together but currently I am interested in a couple of ongoing projects which should end up as reviews, and I'm plumb out of time and gas by this time of day.

    Thanks for your help.

    help!!

I am nearly finished with a review - but it runs to abt 1000 words and a few drawings. shall I finish it off - or kill it off? advise please. Its on slit lamp lenses annd practical tips

I have another one I would like to do for the community - on my super rare (only one in existance as far a I know) ophthalmology book of 1824. It is a great read - but I would want to write a decent review of 2000 words etc to give the flavour of the book. Can I ? Palfi:drop:

I dont have a review to submit, but rather a request for a review on several of the drilling machines available to us. We are interested in something to try and make the job easier but dont want to spend the money on a new edger just to accomplish easier drilling. Were doing 1/2 dozen a day by hand with a dremel so I think its time we upgaded. Any input would be appreciated.

Help is on the way Mike...

Sean is in the process of reviewing his new machine. If his dancing around the office in pure joy is any indication, I think it will be a very positive review. If he doesn't get it in print fast enough for you, email him directly and get the lowdown less formally.

    Question request for review

We have a product we would like to submit for impartial review, if anyone is interested.

The product is our new anti-fog, CLARITY FOG ELIMINATOR. We know that on this board, more people have seen the real Santa than an anti-fog that works. So we are looking for some real, live testers of our new dry towelette formulation. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PRODUCT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR ANTI-REFLECTIVE LENSES, though it is effective on some AR's such as Zeiss. It was designed primarily for safety glasses and sport eyewear. We have received some rave reviews from some sports magazines, but as an optical company, we really want to know what the pros think.

Again, I emphasize that we need IMPARTIAL feedback. Anyone who commits to writing a review of the product can receive free samples by writing me at tdeastlov@nanofilm.cc. We would ask permission from posters before using any reviews in promotional materials.

Thanks for your time, and Happy Holidays!!

    Zero .......result

A few weeks ago I offered samples to anybody for a product review.

So far no samples sent.......because nobody reacted to it, while subject comes up in the general forum periodically.

Sorry Chris, what is the product? (memory isn't what it used to be!)If the thread still exists, make another post saying you're still looking for one or 2 more volunteers.

It's for for home, office, desktop, nightstand, etc., and can add margin to eyewear sales. Steve, this is the one I forwarded to you that neither one of us could translate. I sent the individual a reply asking him to resubmit in the proper form. I have heard nothing since I sent him the email.....other than this. Honest Chris, I was back to him within a day of getting his untranslatable file.

I can give a personal review of the Hoya CD, I just got a pair. I fit mine at 17 and my add is +2.00 My distance is about a -2.50.

There is enough near and the lens is not too swimmy. I do notice that I feel I need to slightly tip my head down when looking straight ahead or everything at eye level is slightly less clear. I hear this from patients from time to time but never noticed it before myself.

I think it is because it is such a short corridor lens. I think I will drop it a mm when fitting it. Anyone else notice this with this lens?

    Chris,
I'll take you up on the offer to review your slick coat. Let me know how to get the product.

I would like to try your AR remover, and Hooker pads also ;^)

Actually PSI has sold my product under the name "Easy Clean" for the last 16-17 years, which is long before Pentax came up with the same. However I do not know to whom PSI sells.
