polarization axis tolerance for reputable brand polarized sunglasses?

    Hello,

Last week i bought a polarized pair of sunglasses from a reputable manufacturer. The first thing i noticed when i wore them outside that i was seeing the reflections more pronounced in one eye. And i was also seeing reflections from different parts of a reflective surface in each eye, like curved car bodies and windows. I later in the day checked the glasses against a computer screen and saw the polarizing axes were off slightly.

Next day i returned the glasses and told the seller that the lenses were cut wrong and it was difficult for me to wear them, they will check it.

It is the first time i got a pair of branded polarized sunglasses and i was really disappointed. Normally when i cut polarized lenses, i try to align them within one degree of tolerance so me or my customer wouldn't be disturbed by the weird looking glares.

I checked the forum for previous discussions about the topic and people say that 5 degrees of axis tolerance is okay.

In the attached photo you can see the slight difference between each lens against an lcd screen.

So is it me that is more sensitive to such differing glares in each eye or should i expect the brand to be normally much better and ask for a replacement?
