    R H Burton pupilometer questions

I just bought a used R H Burton pupilometer and have some questions about it since there was no user's manual with it. There is a little toggle switch directly under the opening that the optician looks through. (I'm not talking abut the occluder lever on the underside which allows for mono measurements.) It seems to shift two different lenses in front of my eye, but I can't tell any difference between them. What is it for?

Also, there are two buttons on the top side. One is marked MAIN, the on/off switch, but the other button is marked PD/LD. I have no idea what that means!

If anyone has a user's manual for this, I would gladly buy it from you.
    Thank you!

Your other one was indeed busted? My condolences.

There is no user's manual online?

I haven't found anything online. And yes, my 30 year old Essilor pd scope was badly cracked. I could mend it with duct tape, but I'm not sure it would give my customers confidence! The Burton one is really nice, made in Japan and easy to use. I just wish I could figure out what these other buttons are for. I'm hoping some of the older Optiboarders will know.

Ah ha! I found an online manual for an identical pd scope with the trade name of Reichert. The little button under the eyepiece allows for magnification and the LD button is for vertex measurements. I haven't read any further, but I'm so glad to have those questions answered.
