The Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation, a 501C3 nonprofit organization, is accepting resumes for an energetic, hardworking, dependable, team oriented Optician/Para Optometric to join our team. This is a full time position, Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:00PM with occasional weekend and evenings needed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mission driven work, be self-motivated, flexible and enjoy working with diverse people and groups.

Qualifications:
• Certified Optician or Para Optometric, or relevant experience and expectation to obtain certifications.
• Clean driving record, current license, and ability to drive a foundation car.
• Bilingual not required but would be helpful.
• Basic computer skills necessary.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Edging jobs start to end in a finishing lab.
• Coordinating incoming community events and organizing eyeglass orders and delivery.
• Providing exceptional customer service while making optical product recommendations based on patients’ needs and prescriptions.
• Fitting, dispensing, adjusting and repairing eyeglasses.
• Placing orders to outside labs, quality checking received lenses.
• Utilizing inventory-ordering software to build orders and receiving payment.
• Assisting in operations of our Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center (LERC) warehouse to help with donated eyeglasses for international sight missions.
• Performing various administrative support tasks.
• Assist with fittings in the community to support our Lions Eyeglass Assistance Program (LEAP) to serve low-income people in our community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
• Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. keyboarding, data entry, repairs).
• Must be able to see and hear in order to gather and input information; respond to face-to- face and telephone inquiries.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Pay/Benefits:
• Full Time, Non Exempt
• $15.00 to $19.00 per hour based on experience.
• Full benefits package including medical, dental (employer paid for employee only)
• Employer paid 4% retirement contribution
