Lets say you have a drill mount with a post that isn't quite long enough...but is fairly secure even without a nut on it because of a tight notch...do you think Gorilla Glue will help secure the post to the (1.67) lens itself? Any other ideas?

seems like the rx is too thick for this chasis. Was the post clipped? If not, is it attached to the endpiece or replaceable? How big is the whole? There are recessed nuts out there that might work. I agree with lensman though... this job will be a nightmare for you if you don't change the frame.
Lindberg mountings will usually have some adhesive -- uv cured or a Loctite 401. Don't use Gorilla Glue -- it foams up.
