    Children's Plastic

Perhaps this should be on the Optical Market Place forum but my Question is :

Where have all the Children's Plastic frames gone. Time was when we couldn't get metal for Children, now there is very little children's plastic available. Many of these children have strong Rx's that really should be in a plastic frame.

Does anyone know of a line with a good variety, high quality children's plastic line? It doesn't have to be dirt cheap or anything just stylish and well made.

    hey!... you're right!

I never thought about it but that is true.

The Clearvision Fisher price line has a few nice looking simple zyl frames in various colors etc...

The osh kosh b'gosh line from logo had some decent zyl kids but I thing the line might have been done away with.

    Hope that helps...

I'd also include ClearVision's Save the Children line as well as Tura's childrens frames. Both are well made and attractive.

    Try Barbie for girls.

I haven't had any children who like plastic frames. They prefer metals. Boys seem to gravitate to blue or brown; girls to purple/pink or brown.

I favor the metals metals for kids

    - easier to adjust
    - easier to fit the small bridges
-temples are more interchangable w/ other frames (repairs)
-many kids like to wear what mom & dad wear, and the only zyls we sell for kids are the styles that mimic the adults (small, trendy).

If anybody needs zyls, I've got boxes and boxes of them that never moved. I'll let them go cheap !

Lafont kids are awesome. I sometimes wish we had more kids come to our office, on second thought maybe not. ;)
