I was wondering how large labs inspect finished eyeglasses. It takes time to do it manually. Are there special equipments that do at least part of the process? Need to do it faster without compromising quality.

+ more people to inspect.
+ seeing 100's of jobs a day means it's easier to spot typicl defects
- being forced to check hundreds of jobs means finer details are easily missed


aside from more advanced lensometers that will check PD, height and rx all at once, visual inspections are still manual and as labour intensive as in shop.
