Crstal PM office management program experiences...

Maybe looking to move from Ocuco to Crystal PM (Crystal Practice Management).

Any Optiboarders using it? Especially small OD practice's.

I may ask to move this to the practice management forum but for now this place gets the most eyes...

I have been using it for 3 years now. Very easy to use and customize. Multiple exam templates available, and you can just about customize everything. Which is both a blessing and a curse. Mainly because there maybe multiple ways to do something or you spend hours tweaking things just so..I spent about 40 hours redesigning our template and need to fix my documents now.

Of course there are a lot of stock or shared options. My doc just wanted it a bit closer to her style.

Any specific questions that I may answer for you?

    I have it.

Pros: good cost, comprehensive, very much integration-friendly
Cons: not as intuitive as it can be

    I have it, love it.

Best program I've used so far.

Previously used Compulink, Officemate, and some other one I hated.

Our office is finally (started the process over a year ago) transitioning to Crystal from Opto. It definitely seems like an upgrade with lots of customization. It can seem a bit too over stuffed with information but as previously stated it seems everything can be added or removed.

My question to those that are using Crystal... Is there a eyewear/contacts order tracking page or area. We have been unable to find such a thing in the program. For instance, the Opto program had an inventory status page for all orders, to be checked received/dispensed/phoned/etc.
How are you tracking orders w/o such a page in Crystal? Or are we just unable to find it

The easiest way to track status is the frames report. If you go to Reports -> Frame report -> Frame Orders you will see a status report. This report includes anything processed through the spectacle order screen. Up at the top, you have some boxes to filter, such as dispensed / non dispensed, or to show the change report. You can also go into the defaults section in admin and add additional status categories. Such as we added a LM to sched Edge Down for those patients using their own frame.

The same holds true for contacts, but the report is the contact lens report. Which is a great way to check if all orders were batched/processed. If status simply shows created, and it is not a special order, then most likely there is an issue if you are using the integration with your cl distributor.

Bump and was Crystal PM able to convert your previous program to theirs (especially frame inventory) or did they make you start from scratch?
