Does anyone have any experience with the Transitions Vantage Lenses? I'm wondering how they work out in the real world and what patients responses were to them.

Thank you, I took about a 5-6 year hiatus from the business until last summer so I'm trying to get caught up on all the changes and advancements.
I have a pair of the Vantage, they are pretty nice. They don't get as dark as normal and they have a slight tint even where they are "clear". I actually don't mind the tint because I'm super light sensitive and to me it it changes the color ever so slightly. Instead of being white, it turns in to a slightly off white. The new transitions mirrors is what they are pushing. I just talked to a rep about the new transitions 8 that is suppose to be coming out in the new couple months so just keep an eye out for that.
I'm not a fan.
We've sold plenty of the vantage lenses but after a poor reception, I've stopped recommending them. I tried a set and was unimpressed.
They don't get as clear as a 'normal' transitions lens, they don't get as dark as a 'normal' transition lens and the polarizing filter is weak...
I chalk it up as a gimmick that is not at all worth the $$.

GAgirl,
It's the only photochromic polarized lens that I'm aware of.
As mentioned above, indoor transmittance is somewhat low, judging by appearance only, and if coated, about 75%, too dark for night driving off the beaten path if age 50+ IMO.
Polarization efficiency depends on the degree of activation; direct sun at 70 degrees probably matches the transmittance (40% to 50%).
Consult with Transitions™ for more accurate data.
Hope this helps,

The technology is very cool, but they deactivate far too slowly for me to recommend them for everyday wear. For a pair of sport glasses, they are an awesome option. If they came in 1.67 (which was promised but never materialized) I would have a pair.

So, is the main difference between the Vantage and Drivewear that the Drivewear has a base tint?
yes. i tested a pair of drive wear. It's super comfortable to wear for driving in all light conditions but as an actual sunglass i found it rather lacking and not dark enough. i also don't see the colour change and dramatically as advertised for different conditions. It just goes from brown to darker brown and is polarized.
Love my DriveWears! I have a wrap in an IOT with mirror in one and a drill in another. Behind the windshield, it could be darker, still very comfortable for driving, esp. in overcast conditions, but once I step out of the car...it gets dark, even with the mirror, and it goes towards a dark chocolate brown. I'm talking at least 70% cacao! Apologies for the run on sentence.....
I bend light. That is what I do.

DriveWear is also apparently the perfect lens for golf.

Drivewear is just the best lens ever. But vantage is not bad imo, for the right person.
I really appreciate all the feedback! Now I want to try the DriveWear lenses!
X design is available with drivewear? In the US?
What is the vcode for Vantage lenses? Is it the same as a regular transitions v2744 but with the price adjusted on our end? For some reason in my system someone has it in different places as 2 different things: v2744 + v2762, but another place just v2744 with additional cost. These answers have not been easy to find for me. Thanks!
Well the v2744 is for transitions and the v2762 is for polarization. Since the Vantage is polarized, you would actually bill it with both codes if your sending it to insurance. I guess it's just a matter of how you choose to do it.
Yeah, you have to bill for both. It's weird as hell.
