I'm looking for a new servo motor or a repair for my ME1000 edger

I have a ME1000, and I believe the grinding motor has a bad bearing. It started making a loud noise last night and stopped working a couple jobs later. I took the motor to a local shop which repairs electric motors, but they told me to talk to a shop which specializes in servo motors. I found one not far from here, but they're closed today (Saturday).

Do any of you know a good place to get the motor repaired or where I can get a new one, other than Santinelli?

Did you make sure you don't have any built up poly behind or stopping grinding wheel. Bench test motor to check how it runs and sounds separate from edger.

I took the motor out of the machine. There was no build-up of material stopping the grinding wheel.

A rebuild should be duck soup in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts with all the industry close by. When I hear servomotor I think "aviation" so that might be a good place to start. A replacement can probably be found at https://www.mcmaster.com/. They have bailed me out many times in the past.

Just remember all of the components of your gadgets, with the exception of castinggs are available "off the shelf." You just have to know were to look.

No luck. I looked at McMaster and Graingers and had the help of someone who knew much more about this stuff than me. Then I took the motor I have to a place specializing in servo motor repairs, and they said the inside was toast (Thanks WS for selling me a machine with a bad motor).

I had to buy the motor along with a special bracket from Santinelli for $4070.00 plus, I'm guessing, shipping. Dang.

Just curious, why would you buy a motor for an MEI (Italy) from Santinelli (Japan)?

    ME-1000 (Nidek), not MEI-000

The price went up to $6300+. I couldn't buy the motor with any warranty until I paid to have the machine certified...ugh
