Essilor Jess edger

Waiting for a call back from Essilor but I think that we are going to have to replace the "plunger", that's what the technician called it over the phone. Anyone else had experience with the Essilor triplets edger. There is no warranty on our edger so is it worth it to try and fix it myself or best to pay Essilor to come fix it? What are peoples opinions on the triplets? I saw an old post where people prefered the santinelli.

If by "plunger" do you mean the door lock relay? If so, it's a relatively easy repair. Sometimes just a good cleaning will help as it gets corrosion from the moisture. The manual I sent you a copy of doesn't have any info on the internal workings, just basic operating instructions. I don't have a repair manual for it. We've had the triplets for about 6 years and it has been a good basic edger without problems.

Thanks for sending me the manual Chris. I think it's either the plunger for the door or the circuit board. I ordered both to replace them myself to see if it will work. If it doesn't, then I'll have Essilor come take a look.
