Polarized Gradient

Anyone know of a lab that can do a polarized gradient RX. I know Maui Jim can do it, but they have certain RX requirements. I have a patient with +2.25 -4.75 004 +1.25 OD
+2.00 -4.25 178 +1.25 OS

I told her that it probably wasn't possible but I would check.

I found this and it looks like the power range will work, but I'm not sure about what labs will do it. Try Joe Nelson at Xtreme Labs #877-248-1072. He's an independent lab and if he can get it he will.

Back in the day we sold a pant load of gradients. When I was still flying I had a pair of Executive bifocals with the distance a G-15 and the bifocal clear. I also found them good for driving. If you sold a lot of CR-39 lenses and had a tint tank you were soon be able to buy a larger boat. Today, what with all the weird lenses and coatings your "lab" gets to upgrade their watercraft every year.

Some people like that gradient look. The nupolar gradient polars do have a brownish-gray color at the bottom, they are not clear. Any digital lab should be able to process them.

They do indeed, and they are gorgeous. The line is called Essilor Colors. They are only available in Poly and I think the only PAL is the Physio DRx, which works very well for sunwear. The Essilor Colors line also requires either a TD2 or Xperio coating. We use the Sienna Brown polarized gradient all the time. My only concern is that your patient's cylinder may be out of range. Call an Essilor lab.

They are great for driving; darkening the outside glare but leaving a lighter color to read your panel.

You should be able to put any FBS design on the KBCO(also owned by Essilor) Brown or Gray gradient. Unfortunately only available in Poly. The other option would be to order the job on a Grey 'A' then tint the gradient over the top of that. I'm sure some people here will tell you the troubles they have had, or more likely heard second hand about, tinting over polarized lenses. Never been a problem for me.
